Design & features

Yanshi Foxi looks Traditional at first glance, yet some strokes differ from both modern Simplified and Traditional forms: its calligrapher, Mr Ji, drew on small-seal-era forms over 2,000 years old, giving it a classical weight. Unlike usual calligraphy fonts it has no joined strokes and no heavy pressure points—each stroke stands apart.

Best uses

If you are working on retro and nostalgic themes or calligraphic title cards, Yanshi Foxi is an easy pick, and it is also worth trying for covers for traditional-culture articles. The bigger the size, the more brush detail shows; at small sizes it can turn muddy.

FAQ

Is Yanshi Foxi free for commercial projects?

Free for personal and commercial use. Keep the license file that comes with the download and confirm the latest terms with the official source before commercial use.

Does Yanshi Foxi support Simplified Chinese, or are characters missing?

The release notes do not list the full character set, so coverage of Simplified, Traditional or Japanese cannot be confirmed. Test it with your real copy after downloading before using it in production.

Is Yanshi Foxi good for body text?

Not recommended. Calligraphic Yanshi Foxi suits titles, signatures and small accents; set body text in Zitiquan Xinyi Jixiangsong to keep the cultural tone while staying readable.
