Design & features

Chongxi Small Seal was written by Wang Xinyi, who has studied small-seal script for over 30 years and philology at National Taiwan Normal University and Beijing Normal University, with a team including Prof. Hsieh Ching-chun and Chuang Te-ming, over more than three years. Characters in the Shuowen Jiezi follow the Da Xu edition; others are transcribed with reasoned seal-script components.

Best uses

Chongxi Small Seal shines in refreshing heritage brands and Chinese-style posters, and is a good fit for calligraphic title cards too. Use calligraphic fonts for titles or short text only, and leave plenty of white space.

FAQ

Is Chongxi Small Seal free for commercial projects?

Licensed under CC BY-ND; commercial use is allowed with attribution, but the font may not be modified. For long-term uses such as logos or trademarks, it is worth confirming with the author or publisher.

How complete is the character set of Chongxi Small Seal?

The release notes do not list the full character set, so coverage of Simplified, Traditional or Japanese cannot be confirmed. Test it with your real copy after downloading before using it in production.

Is Chongxi Small Seal good for body text?

Only for very short text. Chongxi Small Seal's brush detail blurs at small sizes, so leave long passages to a regular face like Zitiquan Xinyi Jixiangsong.

Download the files from the Netdisk link and unzip them, then double-click the .ttf or .otf file and choose Install (Windows) or Install Font (macOS). Restart your design app and search for "崇羲篆体" in the font list.
