iPhone Air App Store Screenshot Size: 1260×2736 in the Optional Large Display Class

The short answer

iPhone Air App Store screenshots are 1260 × 2736 pixels portrait, or 2736 × 1260 landscape. In App Store Connect, the Air sits in iPhone with Dynamic Island (large display), and that class is optional. The required iPhone class is iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display), the 6.3-inch size, at 1206×2622 or 1179×2556.

Sources: Apple's screenshot specifications and the iPhone Air tech specs, both checked when we published this.

Which class is iPhone Air in?

Per Apple's screenshot specifications, iPhone with Dynamic Island (large display) covers:

  • iPhone Air
  • iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Plus
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro Max

The class accepts three portrait sizes: 1260 × 2736, 1290 × 2796 and 1320 × 2868 (swap them for landscape). 1260 × 2736 is the Air's own screen: Apple's spec page lists 2736 × 1260 pixels at 460 ppi.

One thing confuses people. Apple markets the Air as a 6.5-inch display, but in App Store Connect it is not in iPhone with Face ID (large display), the class people call "6.5-inch" (1284×2778 / 1242×2688). It sits with the Pro Max models in the Dynamic Island large display class. Don't go looking for a 6.5-inch slot.

Do you need a separate Air set?

No. Two reasons:

  1. The large display class is optional. If you don't provide it, App Store uses scaled screenshots from iPhone with Face ID (large display).
  2. Any of the three sizes works in that slot. If you already have 1320 × 2868 screenshots, upload those, and Air users will see them.

What you can't skip is the required 6.3-inch class. Uploading only the large display class doesn't meet Apple's listed requirement.

So the order we recommend:

  1. Build the required 6.3-inch set (1206 × 2622).
  2. If you want sharper images on Pro Max, Plus and Air, add a large display set.
  3. Pick either 1320 × 2868 or 1260 × 2736 for it. There's no need for both.

When to pick 1260 × 2736

For the large display class we usually suggest 1320 × 2868. It has the most pixels and the most headroom when scaled to other devices; see our iPhone 6.9-inch screenshot tutorial.

1260 × 2736 makes more sense when:

  • You capture directly on an iPhone Air simulator or device. That's the native output, so there's nothing to rescale.
  • Your marketing centers on the Air (thin, one-handed, travel) and you want an Air device frame with matching proportions and pixels.

The screenshot editor includes an Air device frame. After exporting, run the screenshot compliance checker to confirm pixels and transparency.

Format and count

Same as every other iPhone class:

  • 1 to 10 screenshots per class
  • .jpeg, .jpg or .png
  • No alpha channel or transparency. A transparent PNG fails on upload.

App previews

If you're also making an app preview, video sizes differ from screenshot sizes. According to Apple's app preview specifications, the Dynamic Island large display class (Air included) accepts 886 × 1920 portrait or 1920 × 886 landscape, 15 to 30 seconds, up to three previews. You can't export video at 1260 × 2736.

FAQ

Q: I only have an iPhone Air. Can its screenshots be my required set? A: No. Native Air captures are 1260 × 2736 and only fit the large display class. The required 6.3-inch class needs 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556. Capture on a simulator for a medium display device (such as iPhone 17 Pro), or switch the editor to the 6.3″ preset and export again.

Q: Is the Air the same as iPhone Duo? A: No. iPhone Duo is the foldable, with its own classes (outer 1398 × 2034, inner 2007 × 2853). Apple says submissions will need Duo screenshots starting April 2027; see iPhone Duo screenshot sizes.

Q: Where are sizes for every platform? A: See App Store screenshot sizes for every platform.
