Meibei Heihei was created by the Meibei design team in their spare time and refined over several versions. Strokes are straight with square heads and tails, structure simple and square, and horizontal and vertical weights optically equal—bold, solid and plain.

It currently has 2,500 Chinese characters—enough for headlines.

Best uses

Meibei Heihei shines in article header images and brand slogans, and is a good fit for variety-show captions too. For headlines, tighten the tracking a little and size it well above body text for a clear hierarchy.
