Design & features
Fontqu Ximai is Fontqu's first free public-benefit font, made by six designers over seven months. Every stroke is straight, borrowing Hong Kong and Taiwanese letterform traits for a retro, internet-savvy look; tall, slim glyphs with a raised centre fit more text on phone screens.
It has over 7,090 characters: levels 1 and 2 of the General Standard table plus extras, and Basic Latin (ASCII) with additional characters.
Best uses
Fontqu Ximai shows its personality best in refreshing heritage brands, article header images and e-commerce promo banners. Avoid long paragraphs; titles, short phrases and numbers are where it does its best work.
