Design & features

LXGW Neo XiHei is derived from Japan's IPAexGothic, converting Japanese-style strokes to mainland Chinese standard forms and adjusting punctuation to mainland conventions, while keeping a few distinctive strokes (such as those in 民 and 衣) as part of its character.

It covers the 3,500 common characters, all 8,105 characters of the Table of General Standard Chinese Characters and all 6,763 GB2312-80 hanzi.

Best uses

LXGW Neo XiHei shines in short-video cover titles and e-commerce promo banners, and is a good fit for variety-show captions too. On app store screenshots, keep the headline to 6–10 characters per line so it reads in thumbnails.
