What this tool does

Privacy Redact runs entirely in your browser: draw multiple rectangles over names, card numbers, faces, or other sensitive spots on a screenshot or photo, then apply pixel mosaic, soft blur, or a solid black bar. Move, resize, undo, and export PNG or WebP—local only, no uploads. This MVP has no AI face detection and no brush.

How to use

  1. Click, drop, or paste (Ctrl/Cmd+V) one image.
  2. Drag rectangles over sensitive areas; select to move, resize, or delete.
  3. Pick mosaic, soft blur, or solid bar; tune intensity; export PNG or WebP.

FAQ

Do images upload?

No. Decode, redact, and export stay in your browser.

Mosaic vs blur vs solid?

Mosaic pixelates the region; soft blur gaussian-softens details; solid fills with a near-black bar for maximum privacy.

Can it detect faces automatically?

Not in this MVP—box regions by hand. Auto detection may come later.

Is there a brush?

Rectangles only for now; a brush mode is deferred.
